Adorable Tiny House Built By Love, Family and Community

This tiny house is beautiful. It's cleverly designed, skilfully built, warm, well insulated and cosy. What truly makes it a home though is the story of it's DIY construction and how a loving and supportive family and community came together to make this young woman's dream possible. Become a Living Big Patron: This is one of my absolute favourite tiny house tours so far. It completely embodies the spirit of a tiny house and how much it can mean to someone. This 40ft Tiny House is a Mansion On Wheels

While checking out the tiny house street festival in North Carolina we found this amazing home on wheels. At 40ft, it's hard to call it tiny! This home is packed full of really great features and is designed for those who are looking for a simple, small home on wheels, with ease of access to all of it's features. This larger tiny house design is well suited to the baby boomer generation who are now approaching retirement and are interested in downsizing to a tiny house on wheels without wanting to climb ladders into sleeping lofts! Graham Hill's NYC tiny flat #2 attunes L space to the moment

Graham Hill began experimenting with small space living in 2010 when he bought two units in a pre-war coop in New York City’s Soho. He ran a competition to redesign the first rundown flat, and the winners, Romanian architecture students Catalin Sandu and Andrei Butusina, created a moving wall and transformable furniture so the one room could function as three or four. He sold LifeEdited1, or LE1, a few years ago and began work on his second experiment in living with less, LE2, which he hoped would be more affordable and less of a white box. This time he and his team created sliding couch-cubes that can be pushed from room to room to add seating to a couch/dining room or to configure into a queen-sized bed. There’s also lots of felt to absorb sound (both on walls and as a dividing curtain). Ditching LE1’s movable wall - it didn’t block sound and was too expensive - the LifeEdited crew settled for an accordion door (it shrinks to one-tenth it’s expanded size and can fit into tiny closet in the wall). More often found in conference halls or schools, here the expando-wall divides the guest bedroom/office from the rest of the space. “When it's out it has the acoustic properties of a 2-by-4 insulated stud wall with drywall so it's very effective at sound insulation.” LE1: More info on LE2: LE2 is for sale: Original story:

Stunning Studio Apartment Makeover On A Budget | Ikea Hacks | The Home Primp

Studio apartments are daunting — you’ve just got one, open room to sleep in, live in and eat in. How do you make it a functional small space on a budget? In this episode of The Home Primp, Chatelaine Home Editor Alexandra Gater takes a trip to Ikea for some small space furniture ideas and leaves with everything she needs without dropping a ton of cash. Watch as she hacks the $10 Ikea Frack mirror into a wall light, jazzes up the Skogsta stool with chalk paint and makes an entryway organizer out of an Bekvam spice rack. The trick to creating a living space when your apartment is too small for a couch? Don’t forego the Queen-sized bed — instead, turn your bed into a couch with a few cushions and tons of cozy throws. And one Ikea Kallax shelf is the perfect way to divide this space and even creates a little space for an entryway. We hope you love these small space ideas as much as we do!
