kilimenjiro 10 месяцев назад See, he might not have fooled them, but he made an impression, and that's really important for magicians.
  • Amaziah of Judah
Amaziah of Judah 10 месяцев назад He got to the final at Americas got talent so I think he's fine.
  • Tallulah Lawksley
Tallulah Lawksley 9 месяцев назад He definitely made an impression. He got to the finals of America's Got Talent, he's on the American version of this show, works regularly with Penn & Teller and has a show in Vegas. He's hilarious and deserves all his success!
  • Corbin Black
Corbin Black 9 месяцев назад What’s funny (just listen to Penns Sunday School or Piff Pod) is that he actually did fool them, as Penn found out after talking with Piff months later 😂 but Piff thought they meant something different. I hope I’ll be able to see Piff and Pop’s Magic Shoppe one day soon (a collaboration between Piff and Penn & Teller)
  • kilimenjiro
kilimenjiro 8 месяцев назад I wanna expand on this a little: I think the biggest success stories from Fool Us, like Piff and Shin Lim, are the ones where the appeal was a combination of the coolness of the trick and the presentation by the magician. And the thing about those two examples is that they brought something kind of unexpected to tried-and-true magic tricks. Piff's trick wouldn't be half as entertaining if he weren't weari–I mean, if he weren't a magic dragon or had that deadpan sense of humor to contrast with it. Shin Lim (and I'm repeating what Penn said) really made something as silly as card tricks a dead serious and even beautiful thing. It's the same reason Penn and Teller became so popular, because they brought something new to magic while still being cool magicians on their own.

SR1Records 7 месяцев назад I come back to these videos every now and again to correct people. Piff did fool them. Penn did a podcast and he said "the method we kind of sort of gave on air, was kind of sort of wrong". Penn and Piff also did a podcast after that and Piff said "Tell, he drew like a square with some lines on it and i was yeah, let's just not have this conversation... I wasn't trying to fool you, i just wanted to be funny on TV".
  • Iliketoread
Iliketoread 7 месяцев назад kilimenjiro on a podcast penn said piff actually did fool them. When penn was explaining the trick piff didn’t quite understand what he was saying but figured penn was right but after talking to piff penn realized they were actually wrong

ENDSEEKER 9 месяцев назад (изменено) Do not get fooled by AGT, they actually approach these type of artists and ask them to perform specific acts they have seen, performing artist (pro or amateur), have very little say about what they are going to perform on AGT.
  • Tarmin Slingerfinger
Tarmin Slingerfinger 9 месяцев назад I think he was 5 times funnier here. Also, this one was first right?

  • OneManShow
OneManShow 3 месяца назад Well in my opinion, the EXACT method is irrelevant. You can clearly see the bottom half of the "y" is missing... which they probably couldn't see, but he didn't fool them either. I don't think it's necessary for them to know how to manufacture the gaff deck he used.

  • Nolan ZW
Nolan ZW 9 месяцев назад Turns out, he DID fool them, but misunderstood what they were trying to explain. Penn ran into him later and discussed it with him in further detail. They werent quite right, but piff gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed they were during the show itself.

  • SR1Records
SR1Records 7 месяцев назад (изменено) I remember that podcast and one of the first to point out that Piff did fool them. In a podcast with Penn and someone else he said (and i remember the quote almost exactly - "the method we kind of sort of guessed on air, was kind of sort of wrong". Piff and Penn did a podcast later as well and Piff said "Teller, he drew like a square with some line on it and i was like yeah, let's not have this conversation... i wasn't trying to fool you, i just wanted to be funny on TV".

  • Floyd XJ
Floyd XJ 6 месяцев назад @juskuz111 I heard that on the podcast as well (it is one of the Penn's Sunday School episodes, but I also don't know which). Piff and Penn have become quite good friends. And it does not sound like Piff is upset that he did not get the trophy, but I have not heard that from his mouth. :-)

  • Evan D
Evan D 9 месяцев назад I don't really like how they basically said their guess out loud at the end. Did they always do it that way in the first season of Fool Us? In the later seasons/now it is more cryptic so that the magician will know but the audience doesn't get the trick revealed unless they figure it out themselves.
  • Unnamed RedShirt
Unnamed RedShirt 4 месяца назад Magicians that don't reveal how they did it aren't worth your time.
  • Unnamed RedShirt
Unnamed RedShirt 3 месяца назад @Brian Jin That's why I don't watch most famous magicians, nor will I ever pay to attend a magic show. If a magician is more concerned with maintaining some persona where they pretend to be a magic man, rather than making a show that's interesting to watch, then I'll pass. I'll pay to watch shows that reveal the trick. They're interesting. Otherwise, it's an act for children.
