Glad I stopped when my dad shouted at me to. Now I know to be more careful! That’s why I like my parents, they make me continue and learn. Most people probably would have just kicked me out and said they are driving instead of letting me learn.
  • Dylan Frost
Dylan Frost Год назад Actually they aren't that small compared to a lot of cars
  • Michael S.
Michael S. Год назад Jim Shulman everything on that car is thin. Thin headlights, thin grill, thin A pillars, thin tires.
  • ricerocket_ed6
ricerocket_ed6 Год назад A-Pillars being thick is something that doesn't need to be. There are far better ways to improve rollover protection without completely eliminating visibility. The problem with this in big cars, which most of us American's drive, is they're much heavier than normal cars, and need the thicker roof lines. Yes, every car since 1973 has legally been required to have 'rollover protection' meaning your roof had to support 1.5x the weight of the car without crushing in more than 5 inches. In 1982 the law got stricter, but A pillars didn't thicken a whole lot. On SUV's visibility is going to be worse because they are so much heavier. The B pillar is more important when it comes to safety anyway because it's right behind or even perpendicular to the driver's head, so in a rollover it's structural support is far more useful than the A pillar's is. My '99 Civic has thin ass A pillars and it still got a 4 star rollover rating, yes it's 2,300lbs but safety is still possible in conjunction with visibility. It's mainly Ford and Chevy's modern cars I've noticed have this problem.
  • Mitch Ratinoff
Mitch Ratinoff Год назад (изменено) If you have a hard on for A-pillars, I strongly suggest the first ISF. I remember sitting in one at a Lexus dealer when they first came out and I was like "how the @$%# do you see out of this thing?". The magic of the 90's and before was that cars were made to be seen out of. The thought of under cover brothering with a big gulp or texting, especially while rowing gears was out of the question. Your focus was on the most important instrument in the car, the windshield.

  • Mak933
Mak933 2 года назад whoobibi This is what I have been saying all along. Safety rating metrics are only met by crash performance. Crashes are the root cause (LEAN principles) so try to eliminate the crashes first.
  • whoobibi
whoobibi 2 года назад Imagine, cars you can actually see out of, and thereby avoid accidents. Unlike the current crop of cars where government regulations give you a reduced greenhouse in the name of helping you (possibly) survive the accident that wouldn't have ahppened in the first place if you could JUST SEE OUT OF THE CAR.

Noah Tommy G 7 месяцев назад @FourEyePersonal You're not wrong at all. I have a 97 Accord and I started getting major oil leaks past 180k miles. My dad and I had to replace the seals and steam clean the transmission after the oil and dirt caked up on it.
  • FourEyePersonal
FourEyePersonal 8 месяцев назад @Hamilton Dashcammer 100% agree. That said the U.S variant Honda F engines start to burn oil like nobodies business once they've reached a certain point. It starts slow, but the seals just don't last. And then spark wells start puking oil. I do love these cars, but that was the majority of my experience working on my Ma's.

  • Jarred Geis
Jarred Geis 10 месяцев назад I've got a 93 EX Sedan. Its a great car OVERALL... engine and trans run like new even at 189k miles HOWEVER you have to wind the gears out so far to make any power you feel like you're beating the thing to hell to just drive normally and keep up with the regular pace of traffic. I think someone thought consumers would think it would be fun to feel like you're driving a racecar even though it takes a lifetime to reach 60mph. That being said, being lowered on coilovers makes it a dream in the corners and anything that needs replacing is relatively cheap, aside from doing the rotors is a bitch as its a hub over rotor design.

  • archangele1
archangele1 Год назад The coupe.. I had a 2001 EX coupe. I gave it to my son a few months ago when I bought a newer car. It has 170K on it and still runs like new. Gets 29 mpg in mixed driving and can get 33 mph on the highway. The Accord is a very well built and reliable car. That old 2001 I gave my son still has everything working from the sun roof to the cruise control. There is no car I have ever owned that has proven that reliable. I now drive a 2014 Q60S Infiniti, but to be frank, I many times think I should have just bought a V6 Accord coupe.. Honda makes a darn good car.. Certainly better and more reliable then other Japanese makes save possibly for Toyota. But Honda cars are more fun to drive then a Toyota.
