14 Things Rich People Do That POOR PEOPLE DON'T!

Published on Mar 23, 2018 1,269,634 views

Rich people habits that the poor don’t do! Mindsets and characteristics of millionaires and the wealthy who do things differently than poor people

14. They don't save; they invest- Here’s a statement that is way too true. I'm sure you've never heard about a millionaire becoming wealthy by investing in a savings account right? They invest in companies, and stocks to make more money off the money they already to have and that’s how their wealth continues to grow, and they keep making more, instead of keeping money in a savings account not doing anything productive with it.

13. Buy it for life- Most of the world have a false idea about the economy and have this idea stuck in their heads that buying cheap is always best. But in reality, it’s better to buy a pair of shoes that cost $100 that will last five years, instead of a pair of shoes that cost $20 but will only last one year and require you to make five trips to the store to buy new ones. Buying things for life is a trend for some but a lifestyle for the rich. Wealthy people will spend more time investing in purchases before they make them, to make sure they're buying something that will last as long as possible and get the most value out of it. For example, this is why a rich man will buy a $1,000 suit even though the price might shock most of us, in the long term a suit that costs that much will last for decades. And if you know how to repair your own clothes it could last a lifetime. So in some cases buying more expenses things at a higher quality can be a smarter move in the long run.

12. Wait for good deals- There have been many studies about people who were offered $5 now, or $10 in two months and almost everyone chose to take the $5 now. People seem to have something slightly wrong in our brains because it's clear that $10 would be the smartest choice but most people’s immediate need for money makes them chose otherwise. Rich people don't seem to have this problem. Wealthy people will wait months or longer to get the best value they can for something and don't rush into get rich quick schemes.

If you do the right things with the money, make the right life decisions along the way and stop focussing on always being comfortable vs how can I make more of myself then you will achieve more. No one makes a career of an elementary school paper route. If you are in a stagnant career then its time to shake things up and move on.

The car and driving experience have basically not changed. Modernity too finds wide screen TV trumps the private home picture studios of truly rich and famous of 1960s.

Think of it like an airplane; it must have a minimum speed in order to take off and fly. And it has a max altitude that it can fly at. If it exceeds the altitude the engines will stall (ie. bankruptcy). Like the plane you cannot take off with a minimum wage job.

  • thepianoplayer416
thepianoplayer416 10 месяцев назад (изменено) Living within your means is relative. Having $1M+ in your bank does entitle you to buy a Rolex watch and a Ferrari. Even having these luxury items you can still be living within your means. There is the choice between a 2nd hand BMW that is loaded vs. a brand new basic Toyota that is brand new. Some people like Jeff Bozos prefer to get around in a Honda Civic. Being wealthy allows for more choices in life. Since a lot of wealthy people own their own businesses that bring in money, they are always value conscious but a new car is within reach. Some like Buffet & Gates still retain much of their wealth even giving half of it to charity. Some accumulated wealth by investing & saving as much as they can tend to be frugal. Others who are in good businesses generating a lot wealth don't think about being frugal as much. Even leaving lights on when nobody is around isn't a big deal. In some Asian societies like China people have a tendency to show off their wealth. A lot of kids (2nd generation) of wealthy business people drive around in fancy cars, wear clothes with designer labels with the parents' money.

One client gave another client (who she's sees in passing twice a week) a baby gift when she was pregnant. This client is one of the nicest and most genuine people I have ever met. She doesn't say anything bad about anyone and if gossip ever comes up, she re-directs it back to a positive comment. I compare this with a big family I know who are THIRSTY to be rich and they have opposite traits - they are greedy, constant competition with one another, gossip/criticize others, brag constantly, ALWAYS talk about money, and are only nice when they can get something from you. Yes, all the kids are grown, college educated, and work but based on these observations, I see little hope in progress and the mentality/mindset is what will keep them stuck for life.

Whatever a person is (good or bad) they would be that way no matter how much or how little money they have.

It's easy to be generous when you have too much, and easier still when you have nothing. The main thing is balance. No point being a millionaire with a miserable life and then dropping dead and giving it to the tax man. But it is totally true about savings compared to investing.
WHATEVER GOES FOR ME 11 месяцев назад Surferchic79 S, yes. It is hasty generalization to say that rich people are kind and humble. I have been with rich people since I have rich relatives as in rich and also poor relatives. I know from experience with my relatives and their friends that being kind and humble depend on one's values and not on one's wealth. There are a lot of rich people who look down on others based on socio-economic class, education, physical appearance, and actuations and may not even show their contempt while there a lot of poor people who do the same. The same goes with the middle class. A kind person will be kind no matter his/her social class and a mean person will be mean no matter his/her social class.

Cuz the only way to come out with something and make money off of it is to RIP people off because if u where actually selling the product for what it's worth then how are u going to make money. That's absolutely true that alot of rich people have got to be fucking dicks, if not they would not be making money. You can not make money in real estate if your telling everybody the truth about the house. The only way is to lie your ass all the way up to a sale.

It’s just nice to go against the stereotype of “rich people- snobby/mean & non-rich- deserving of sympathy”. I had family members who were poor and lived in third world countries. My mom provided them money in times of need to help them out or provide clothes/food. They grew up spoiled and only used my mom & other family members to advance and cut ties once they didn’t need them. I found it interesting bc you would think they would be more humble bc they didn’t have much but the opposite happened. They were more materialistic and wanted to keep up with the Jones’. You save time you would have wasted on an iphone, you save money on buying a cheaper phone, and you make money on your investments. If you did this one year ago, the $1000 you saved would be worth about $1300 today. The tracphone would be $10-15 bucks, with $100 for the yearly minutes. You'd be up $185 or so on the year. Or you could have bought an iphone, been down $1000, and wasted hundreds of hours on your shiny new phone wondering why you are so poor.
