Despite all your efforts to educate on the Volt, the comments section proves that a significant percentage of people are simply stuck in a world of assumptions, pre-conceptions, and plain stupidity. Don't let it stop you!! Your work is much appreciated.

  • David Hollenshead
David Hollenshead 10 месяцев назад Exactly, And the Prius & Tesla owners will claim their cars are better and say "American Cars are Vegas"... and other BS. Two interesting facts, American Cars have always out lasted the Japanese competition, and Toyota makes the worst car on the market for the environment, ie. the Toyota Century, with a V16 engine and single digit fuel economy, but fortunately most nations, including the US, have fuel economy standards that the Toyota Century can't pass...
  • AIO inc.
AIO inc. 7 месяцев назад The only reason any manufacturer actually cares about the environment or fuel economy is half because these days it sells and half because they're required to.
  • vap0rtranz
vap0rtranz 6 месяцев назад And the rest of us can benefit. When I first looked at Volts, they were relatively new and $45k. Within a few years, those same models were $15-$20k. Huge "depreciation" b/c of crappy car? Or lack of demand because of bad assumptions by consumers. Looks to me like the latter.
  • Michael Anthony
Michael Anthony 5 месяцев назад Chevy Volts are fucking garbage. They are an IQ test, and if you buy one--you failed. In fact, anyone who drives a Volt ought to be yanked out of their cars and have their private parts scooped out with a large knife to prevent you fucktards from contaminating the gene pool

  • Michael Anthony
Michael Anthony 3 месяца назад Facts: 1) General Motors, just last month, announced they are dropping the Volt. Good luck getting parts for yours in a year. 2) People have had to wait MONTHS for parts anyway. Read the Volt forums. It's nit uncommon for people forced to leave their Volt at dealer for 3 or more months. 3) Volts have weird problems that nobody seems to be able to diagnose. Again, read the Volt forums. These cars are prone to having electrical Gremlins and glitches that require owners to keep taking their cars back to the dealer over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over ad infinitum.
  • FlOpPy diSk
FlOpPy diSk 1 месяц назад @Michael Anthony But I can still get parts for my 91? Buddy, I don't think the manufacturer has to do with part availability.
  • Michael Anthony
Michael Anthony 1 месяц назад @FlOpPy diSk Which is why you're a nose-picking imbecile who drives a 30 year old car. Now I'm sure with the horse and buggy you drive all the parts are interchangeable, but today's cars have many proprietary parts and mechanisms--and this is especially true of Hybrids or EVs. With the Chevy Volt, read some of the forums where people have posted it's taken them 3-6 months to get a fucking part--and this was BEFORE they discontinued these shit boxes. In the future you might want to keep your booger hole closed about things you know nothing about.
  • FlOpPy diSk
FlOpPy diSk 1 месяц назад @Michael Anthony Lmao you are a sad little man. Also where did you hear they where discontinuing them? I still have yet to see it.
  • Michael Anthony
Michael Anthony 1 месяц назад @FlOpPy diSk Holy shit you're a goddamn fucking idiot. I'm amazed you have the brain power to breathe on your own. Seriously, and this isn't rhetorical: how does someone reach your level of stupidity without winding up in a mental hospital somewhere with velcro shoes? Anyhoo, to answer your question, GM only made a huge fucking announcement last November about all the layoffs and car divisions they were getting rid of (which the Volt line was one), and it was only in the news for about a month, and only people like the president of the United States Tweeted about it and even mentioned it in several press conferences; but other than it being mentioned on CNN, Fox News, and in the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, and every car and industry magazine from here to Timbuktu, and dozens of videos on Youtube about it, it was no where really. Perhaps they don't allow you television or magazines at whatever retard facility they house you at?

Robert McAleer 2 года назад great review on a great car. I love mine! Most economical car I've owned. In 60k miles, fuel costs have been cut in half, I have done 2 oil changes, and original brakes are still like new. only visits to a service center were those 2 oil changes. Total maintenance costs in 60k miles and 5 years = $80. Try to beat that with any other car.

Fast Freddy 2 года назад You really have to understand 8-Bit Guy's true Geekness in order to appreciate this review. He is not a car review guy at all. Normally he talks about obsolete electronics and other cool stuff. I'm sure the Volt is a great car for him and some others. Now he just needs to review the Chevy Bolt/all electric. As far as the Tesla is concerned, good luck getting one when they come out, I think there is a long waiting list. Cheers

  • Timo VanDeGriend
Timo VanDeGriend 2 года назад but does it have autopilot?
  • Erik Stephens
Erik Stephens 2 года назад Sort off. You can get automatic cruise control with lane keep assist which is not far from Tesla's autopilot.
  • Timo VanDeGriend
Timo VanDeGriend 2 года назад @Erik Stephens... youre joking right? right? can this car be fully automatic, not just lane shit and speed assist... FULL autopilot?
  • Erik Stephens
Erik Stephens 2 года назад Actually ACC is pretty close. The only difference between the Tesla system and the GM systems is that Tesla can change lanes with the turn signal. And GM's system requires you to tap the accelerator when the car comes to a full stop to resume ACC. Other than that the GM system is very close to the Tesla system. They even use almost the exact same sensors in similar ways. Oh and don't be a prick. Do some research and stop assuming everything GM does is crap it makes you look like a rather stupid Tesla fan boy.
  • cuda426hemi
cuda426hemi 2 года назад Comparing cruise control to Tesla's autonomous driving mode is ludicrous. You sound like an idiot. Let me know when the Volt makes a profit while still burning fossil fuel clone-boy. They lose $49,000 on each Volt - and the value craps 50% in 2 years, go GM!!!
  • Erik Stephens
Erik Stephens 2 года назад @cuda426hemi It's not Cruise control like you know it. It's automatic cruise control. There is a huge difference. And so I'm an idiot because I can read and I know the difference?

  • cuda426hemi
cuda426hemi 2 года назад Without getting into a pissing match with GM weenies; here's the REAL point of the above stupid guy's article: If YOU were given the CHOICE of two FREE gifts and one was a Volt now, or a Tesla Model 3 in 2 years - which one would you take?  Case closed.
  • Erik Stephens
Erik Stephens 2 года назад I would take the Volt in a heartbeat. Tesla hasn't figured out how to make a reliable car yet.
  • cuda426hemi
cuda426hemi 2 года назад Really? They sell more in California than Mercedes and BMW; broke the scale for quality at Consumers Union, have THE best customer service and customer loyalty but hey - you can't teach stupid.
  • Erik Stephens
Erik Stephens 2 года назад Consumer reports have pulled their recommendation of the Model S because of reliability. Tesla scores high in customer satisfaction but not quality.
  • cuda426hemi
cuda426hemi 2 года назад Still highest rated car by owners - which is the bottom line. New tech will always have growing pains. At least the majority of the few problems were not drivetrain related like in the Volt where the bulk of issues are with the drivetrain - still dependent on gas, of course.
