The Papadakis Racing team began drifting in 2004 and is the most winning team in Formula Drift history, earning the 2015 title with driver Fredric Aasbo, as well as backto back championship titles with driver Tanner Foust in 2007 and 2008. The Rockstar Energy Drink / Nexen Tire Toyota Corolla Hatchback is the latest competition build from the Hawthorne, California, based team.

Team owner Stephan Papadakis is a legend of sport compact racing who began building his reputation in the 1990s with the first front-wheel drive, tube-chassis drag car in the U.S. The team earned multiple records and championships in the discipline, turning in elapsed times and trap speeds previously thought unattainable in front-drive drag cars. Papadakis' successes in front-wheel drive were matched by his efforts in rear-wheel drive when he campaigned a Honda Civic that became just the fifth car to join the NHRA's Sport Compact 200 MPH club

Chuck Taylor Неделю назад (изменено) For longevity I'd say my 1986 2.4L 22RE 4 cylinder has to be up there at the top. Not much power 114 hp and 140 ft/lbs. In my 2WD truck the gearing makes it decent quick around town. Cruising 65 to 70 is just below max torque, so it moves well with the traffic. Plus true 32 MPG at 60 -65 MPH. Still going after 33 years and 468,000 miles. Doesn't burn enough oil to see much drop on the dip stick between 5000 mile oil changes with good old Castrol GTX conventional oil.

RECON_RON 1 месяц назад Well people forget that Toyota made the 2jz because of the RB26, they knew that the RB was great during it's time so they just their own version of an RB engine which is why the 2jz is better. If the 2jz came first Nissan would've done the same thing and came out with a better engine for competition.

Actually, bmw and mercedes did that in the 80´s, but for the car company, this is not a busisness to have a reliable engine which can perform 600.000km with 0 problems. Thats why good engines diead after 2000.

Tanner187 97 3 месяца назад (изменено) I love the way an RB sounds amazing but my first car was a IS300 and ever since then I’ve been addicted. Car lasted over 300k and I rarely maintained it along with spraying nitrous to it as quick as I could get it. I loved that car it just kept taking everything I threw at it until she said no more and BOOM, I bought a Chevy lol. I will be investing in another one here soon mainly just to have another 2j so I can slap a turbo on it instead of nitrous.
  • sasja de vries.
sasja de vries. 3 месяца назад I've heared a detailed comparison from a Russian tuning company. And the conclusion is pretty much: both of the engines have little problems from the factory that you need to fix, the RB just has a lot of them, and the JZ just a few. Individual throttle bodies, the construction of the tappets pushing the valves are considered plus points of the RB. Then the JZ has hydraulic tensioners for the belts, the RB has mechanical ones; for drifting where you spank the clutch all the time and then you have a lot of abrupt changes in your revs, and that's where you really need mechanical tensioning. ^^That's pretty much the only thing where the RB shines compared to a JZ, on all other aspects the JZ is superior or equal.
