How does an Electric Car work ? | Tesla Model S

Published on May 30, 2017 5,758,280 views

Electric cars are making big waves in the automobile world. These noise-free, pollution-free and high-performance vehicles are expected to make their I.C. engine counterparts obsolete by 2025. This video will unveil the hidden technologies behind the Tesla Model S, which recently became the world’s fastest accelerating car. We will see how electric cars have achieved superior performance by analyzing the technology behind the induction motor, inverter, lithium ion battery power source, regenerative braking and above all, the synchronized vehicle mechanism, in a logical, step-by-step manner. The working and features of Tesla car is explained here with help of animation.

  • Bill A
Bill A 10 месяцев назад (изменено) At 0:05 "polution free"? Hmmm... probably not, because currently we're still generating electricity using lots of "dirty" methods in addition to clean methods. When the only power generation waste is only is water, then you can say "pollution free". Moreover, the manufacturing of lots of the electric car parts also generates dirty wastes. So currently "pollution free" is more like an illusion. One of the biggest advantages of electric cars is the regenerative breaking, where breaking is not wasted as heat in the break pads, but rather converted back into electricity. At 8:20 Now that is cool! ;)

Miles Jr 9 месяцев назад Ok ,, the motor acts as a generator under regenerative braking conditions and converts kinetic enenrgy in to electric and sends it to the battery. What type of electricity it creats ?? AC or DC ?? Does it send the energy directly to the battery or to the inverter first and to the battery afterwards?? Guys please help me if you know
  • Bill A
Bill A 9 месяцев назад Honestly, the regenerative breaking system is one of the biggest assets of ECs (Electric Cars), which gives it a high energy preservation and efficiency. In my opinion this tech also works really well in hybrids, which gives them the best of both worlds. I said it before, and say it again, that until they develop an energy pack (aka battery, capacitor, or fusion) which gives the same or better range as ICE cars (Internal Combustion Engine) and deploy charging stations at every gas station, ECs are just a toy for now. ;)

Look at the percentage of people that buy $80,000 vehicles right now. Until Tesla can cut that cost in half, IC cars will be ubiquitous. What do you think about ditching the induction motor in electric cars for SR motors? SR motors are much cheaper. And you will get much higher torque at lower speeds than induction motors.

  • Marmocet
Marmocet 6 месяцев назад BEVs are quiet, there's no doubt about that, but most of the noise light vehicles of any kind emit, whether they're BEV, ICEVs or hybrids, comes from their tires, not their drivetrains. Also, there's nothing about BEVs that makes things like large screens and over the air updates exclusive to them. ICEVs and hybrids can just as easily incorporate these features too. Hybrids, and even certain ICEVs can deliver ranges of 600 or more miles between recharges/refueling, so in that respect, they're still by far superior to BEVs, especially when cost is taken in to consideration. I'm all in favor of clean transportation, especially because I do a lot of my travel by bicycle and I wind up having to inhale what comes out of people's tailpipes, but it's useful to have these little reality checks from time to time so we don't get too carried away with the hype.

This compensates for the lower energy density. And tesla is not a "boring" car, the top model accelerates to 100 in 2.3 seconds, that's not boring, and yes CO2 is "food" for plants, but right now we are making much more of the food than plants can eat, plants like IC engines are extremely inefficient, and yes if we were allowing the number of plants to increase, then perhaps it wouldn't be a problem, but making more food and killing the consumers of it, while the food being poisonous to us is madness.
